Even death is monetised these days
Something I've been noticing lately is how death became a common theme in TV ads, and mostly the ads that punctuate daytime TV during the weekend. There is a reason for this, I think: The Boomer generation is kicking the bucket, collectively, and the younger generations collectively have nothing left to give.
The first example are the funeral and cremation plan adverts. Usually the adverts feature people talking about their own funerals, as if that's normal behaviour. If someone began that discussion with me, in real life, I'd be quite concerned about their welfare.
The other examples are the charity adverts that say 'Such and such is happening, but if you leave money in your will, together we can stop this.'. A lot of charities are doing this now. Again, I think it's because the young cannot afford their own homes, let alone fund the lavish lifestyles of charity executives who are paid 10x the average salary.
This trend of monetising death is psycopathic.
